Inspired by the serene atmosphere and subtle colors of Cadboro Bay, architecture studio BoForm designed the Cadboro Bay House, a modern, minimalist home that blends seamlessly with nature. The main goal of the project was to incorporate the essence of the beach into the living space.

Located on Vancouver Island, the home exudes a peaceful atmosphere, with interior tones reflecting the nearby beach. Neutral tones of grey and white create a sense of serenity, blending gently with the surrounding landscape. The interior design by Falken Reynolds has created a warm and peaceful space for an active family of five, with a focus on comfortable living and high-quality, durable materials.

“The client had a clear vision for the home – a minimalist, sustainable and minimal interior that was still warm and sophisticated.” The shared vision of the client, architects and interior designers for art, elegance and minimalism created a perfect balance between essential lines, details and artwork. The home, which showcases a collection of works steeped in the Canadian modernist tradition, resembles a small art gallery.

The floor plan is specifically designed to enhance the skyline through large floor-to-ceiling windows. The seamless ceiling and decorative details guide the view from inside to outside, creating a visual and spatial continuity. This effect is achieved through large open spaces that connect to the outside space through minimalist panoramah! windows, with virtually invisible window frames, maximizing the view.

Every room is designed to offer a stunning bay view, making it an integral part of the home. Each panoramic window highlights this breathtaking view from every angle of the home. The interior sparkles with the changing intensity and color of the sun’s rays, creating the feeling of being outdoors, even in winter, while enjoying the warmth of the home.
